The Fascination Advantage Report

Hi everybody, Cheryl Knowlton, coming at you with your dynamite tip of the day. And today I have something very personal and very exciting to share with you.

I mentioned that I am working on becoming a certified fascination advisor and being able to help deliver the power of Sally Hogshead’s amazing material and her tremendous work in her book How The World Sees You with audiences hopefully all over the world. That would be very, very fun. I will be one of about 160 certified fascination advisors who will be able to deliver this material worldwide, and that is so exciting and so much fun.

Even if you have had the report done for you in the past you might want to do it again.

Personal journey time. As I was going about starting my training, I was basing it off of a fascination report that I had done several years ago, and it occurred to me maybe I ought to take another one just to make sure that I haven’t changed substantially over the last couple of years, and wouldn’t you know, when I took the test, I had changed.

This is what the fascination advantage report looks like, and I would love to be able to connect you with one, so just reach out to me and I will make that happen for you. The retail value of this is $33.00, and you can also access it through Sally’s book How The World Sees You, by the little code in the back.

But as I did mine, I found out that my primary is prestige, and my secondary is power, which makes me the victor. Now, what does that have to do with anything? For me, it has everything to do with everything.  I am engaging personally in the most explosive, uncomfortable growth opportunity of my career.  I was investing in heroic public speaking, which I have talked about in other videos.  My grad program was in New Jersey once a month for four months. It was a deep, deep dive into learning how to deliver a more powerful message and improve my craft as a professional speaker.

I never volunteered

I found something really weird. I never, never ever volunteered. Ever. And I thought, “I’m paying an awful lot of money for this, what is wrong with me?”

And I would want to raise my hand, I know I will get more out of it if I will just jump in if I will volunteer if I will participate at a higher level, but I would never, ever do it. And it took doing a new report to realize I’m allowing my prestige to get in the way. Maybe you’ve felt that way at some time in your life where you felt like if it’s not perfect I can’t do it, and I’m going to have to sit here in my little chair and make sure it’s perfect in my head before I’m going to get up and deliver it, and I found that I was actually getting in my own way.

Maybe you found that that’s happened for you a time or two in your life. If you have, I’d love to hear about it so I know I’m not the only one. I know I’m not the only one on the planet. I have a lot of very good friends who are professional speakers who speak on perfectionism. It is part of the human condition but if you are primary prestige, that may be getting in your way.

So I’d love to help you get your own report so that you can figure out who you are at your core and learn to be who you are at your best. And that is your dynamite tip of the day.
