Ninja Road Warrior Tip of the Day: Using Systems

Hi everybody. Cheryl Knowlton, CEO of Dynamite Productions coming at you with your Ninja Road Warrior tip of the day. Just something to think about. I have done this for years on my own, but then I heard another speaker talk about how important her systems were for getting herself in the zone right before she goes onto the stage. And because my brain, my reticular activator in my brain was clued into that, now I hear other speakers talk about that all the time.

Systems and Protocols

Make absolutely certain that you have a system of protocols, and checklists, and things that you go through right before you are going to take the stage when you are about to speak or present to help you get totally clear, totally focused and in the zone. So you can be completely and totally present for your audience. Whatever that looks like. Making sure that the ringer on your phone is off.

If you have an Apple Watch, or an Android watch, or something that has its own independent beeping and buzzing capabilities, make sure that’s off so that you can be totally focused and totally centered. For me, it has everything to do with my playlist. I have a very specific playlist that I use the morning of while I’m getting ready, while I’m driving there, and right before I’m about to take the stage so that my energy is at its peak and I can deliver exactly what I was paid to show up and present and deliver a literal dynamite production. So think about the music that just gets you fired up. Think about putting distractions aside and absolutely being very, very clear, very focused on your systems and protocols right before you take the stage so you can be at your very best.
