Be really, really easy to work with. Make sure you are very responsive when the meeting planner or the organizer asks for things. Make sure that you get them your bio, get them your photo in a very, very timely fashion, and that you are not a diva. Don’t ask for green M&Ms only in the room. You are not Aerosmith. Just remember that.
Also, as soon as you land and you are checked into the hotel, text the meeting planner and let them know that you’re there. You have no idea how happy they’ll be, how relieved they’ll be to know that you made it safely and that you’re in town. You could even go an extra step and text them when you land and after you’ve successfully checked in to your hotel. Then you’ll be good to go.
