Hi, Everybody! I’m so, so, excited to share with you my favorite book.  I have given, as a book, more times than any other book in the entire world.  It was my honor and privilege to be able to meet the author this last year at a national speaker’s association conference and tell her what her work has meant to me.  That’s a story for another day.

Real estate professionals are often encouraged to take personality tests

Let me share with you this amazing book.  It is called How the World See You.  There’s a cute mirror on the front cover.  So, often in real estate you’re encouraged to take personality tests.  These personality test—well many of them are awesome.  I just did the DISC profile myself for leaders, which is phenomenal.  I’ll share that with you on another video.

But all these personality tests are scientifically geared for how we see the world.  But we are really not very aware of what we’re actually putting out there.  Basically, Sally Hogshead, the amazing author, of this phenomenal book, talks about how you can figure out who are you at your best.  Basically, we are all born fascinating.  Over the process of time, we learn, because things happen to us, that dim our light.  We learn how to become boring.  We have to unlearn boring and relearn how to be our fascinating unique, true self.  The tools and skills that you bring to the real estate profession are totally different from mine.  You need to be uniquely you.

This is the only book in the entire world that I would ever tell you never to buy used, because part of the unique value of this book is to learn what your personality arch-type is, along with your own fascination advantage.  This comes with this little code at the back.  If you buy it used this is going to be scratched off, like the one I have now.

Too many real estate professionals have no idea how to market themselves. They’ve got a company that has branding and they may market that.  They may be on a team.  They may know how to market that.
