Data Security

Cheryl Knowlton:             Hi everybody, back at ya. It’s Cheryl Knowlton and Clay Johnson. So excited this week, we are going to be talking about a really important topic that is hot and fresh on a lot of people’s minds right now. And that is data security. One of the things I love about going to Castle and Cooke and teaching at Castle and Cooke is on the inside of the bathroom stalls. For those of you who have taken courses at Castle and Cook in Draper, you’ll notice there is something about data security in the bathroom.

Clay Johnson:                    Hey there it is. It’s interesting. It says “Value your secure security? So do our clients.” And we do and we realize that’s so important because on the mortgage side we’re dealing with such highly sensitive information, social security numbers, income information, bank statement information. And so it’s really important to us to make sure that we’re protecting that data and that information with the highest levels of security. And so we just have that kind of constant reminder for folks when they’re everywhere in the building, we kind of have those little postings up and around.

Cheryl Knowlton:             Absolutely. So one of the biggest keys is when you walk away from your desk, wherever you have secure information, make sure that you keep that buttoned up and set your computer to automatically go to a screen saver after a minute or two minutes after you’ve walked away. So that’s just your first of five tips we’re going to give you for this week. So we’ll see you in the next video.

Clay Johnson:                    See you, folks.
