The Magic of Tidying Up

Clean of  your space

One of my favorite books that I have read, that you can get a full list of all my absolute favorites at my website www.cherylknows.com, is a book called The Magical Art of Tidying Up. Many of us need to clean up our space.  I know my husband has a totally different philosophy about that than I do.  I cannot even think in his office.  It makes me crazy. There are piles of stuff neatly organized. He knows where everything is.

I don’t operate that way.  This morning, prior to coming here to make these videos for you, I cleared off my desk because I have to have a totally clean slate every time I start.  Every time I finish.  And do you know what I do?  I do a crazy work around if I find that I have made too many organized piles on my desk and I can’t think well in my office, which is the most magical Disney-created space I could’ve possibly created for myself.

Purge and get rid of the stuff you don’t need

I end up working at my kitchen counter instead.  I don’t have any children at home any more, except for my grand-baby, who lives in our basement apartment.  She’s rarely upstairs and I wind up moving to avoid cleaning up the problem.  That is not the solution.  So, I recommend reading the Magical Art of Tidying Up, a phenomenal book, which basically says, “Do it all at once.  Purge and get rid of all of the stuff you don’t need.”  Create the work space that you need to that you can have an awesome creative space for getting your work done.
