Even if you’re not traveling to speak, one mistake I made very early in my career was not using a paper planner. People laugh at me and they can laugh all day long. I don’t care. Because I actually had that happen where I was just using my phone as my calendar device. When I synced it, it lost the event. I got a phone call from an event planner saying, “Hi. Where are you?” I was like, “I’m at my house. Where are you?” I was like, “Where are we going with this?” She said, “We have 100 people in the room waiting to hear from you.”
I was absolutely devastated and I lost all of that income as a result. Horrible, horrible. As a result, have a paper planner. Write everything down so you will literally be good to go.
