Ninja Road Warrior Tip of the Day: Don’t use perfumes and other scents when traveling

Hi, everybody. Cheryl Knowlton, CEO of Dynamite Productions coming at you with your Ninja Road Warrior tip of the day. I have a signature scent, and I absolutely love it. It is perfume, it is soap, it is a body lotion and it makes me happy and other people tell me all the time how good I smell. Not so much when you’re on a plane. I had an experience once. My husband took me to the airport very, very early on a Sunday morning. We were thinking it was going to be totally dead. Nobody was going to be there. I was flying to another part of the country. We walked in and an essential oils major world convention had just let out in Salt Lake City. It looked and smelled like a mushroom cloud in there, and it was absolutely … It knocked me backward, literally.

It didn’t occur to me, as I was going through security and everything was taking longer because so many of the individuals who are at that conference, great company, but everybody had all these bottles of essential oils trying to go through. It was a security nightmare. It didn’t occur to me until I was actually getting on the plane that this might be a problem for me while I was on the plane. And of course, I was seated next to several individuals who were each wearing like eight or nine different essential oils at once.

It gave me the world’s worst headache. I’m very, very susceptible to migraines, and it was absolutely toxic for me. Do your fellow passengers a gigantic favor? Number one, make sure that your hygiene game is totally on point when you fly. Everyone will love you and thank you. Number two, don’t overdo it with colognes, perfumes, or essential oils. Be sensitive to the fact that some people are highly allergic to these things. So you’ll just create better friends of your fellow passengers, giving you a better trip, so that you can arrive totally ready to rock it.
